<p>Record attendance at this meeting with interesting new delegates and companies.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Mike Cooper</strong> and <strong>Paul Black</strong> kicked off the day with the launch of their new Fluid Census and how Fluid can help organizations optimize their sales resource. &nbsp;See more <a href="http://www.starmedical.co.uk/fluid/">here</a></p>
<p><strong>Leslie Galloway i</strong>ntroduced <strong>Dr Alexander Natz</strong>, the secretary general of <strong>EUCOPE</strong>, European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs. Dr Natz outlined how the EMIG BD group could engage with EUCOPE and more widely the <strong><em>Bundesverband</em></strong><span class="st"><strong><em> der Pharmazeutischen Industrie</em></strong>.</span><span style="color: black;"> </span></p>
<p><strong>Jim Keeling</strong> of <a href="http://www.corbettkeeling.com/">Corbett Keeling</a> gave his now regular update on the state of play in growth finance. In true ebullient style Jim&rsquo;s take on it was likened to a dramatic event involving sharks or dolphins off the coast of South Africa.</p>
<p><strong>Andrew Dean</strong> of <strong>Present Value</strong> gave a quick pr&eacute;cis of the IPLS in Barcelona and talked through some of the more interesting presentations. (These are available for download)</p>
<p><strong>Leslie Galloway</strong> hosted an open Q&amp;A on VBP and his latest government interactions.</p>
<p>Finally <strong>Dan Thomas</strong> rounded off the day showcasing the successful development of <strong>Alliance Pharma</strong> and its future direction. (We&rsquo;d like to thank Dan for stepping in as Genus could not make the meeting at the last minute).</p>

It was our best attended event yet, confirming there is a place for a regular and useful BD meeting with a consistent and useful 5 point agenda. &nbsp;<strong>The meeting was chaired by Andrew Dean of Present Value.</strong></p>

<p class="summary">The 4th EMIG business development meeting took place at Weston Manor in Oxfordshire.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="summary">Speciality Pharma was well represented once again with eyebrow raising  presentations from Guy Clark: <a href="http://goldshield.co.uk/">Goldshield</a>, Andrew Trouton: <a href="http://www.hamptonpharma.co.uk/">Hampton  Pharmaceuticals</a> and David Davies: <a href="http://www.futuramedical.co.uk/">Futura Medical</a>.</p>
<p class="summary">Richard de Pass the  CEO of <a href="http://www.evaluatepharma.com">Evaluate Pharma</a> gave a very interesting insight into the power of  their business analysis tools and Phil Holt from <a href="http://www.qualoria.com/">Qualoria</a> introduced  their novel online partnering system.</p>
<p class="summary">We all need to look again at the c word and<a href="http://www.complianceinpractice.co.uk/"> Compliance in Practice's</a> director Ian Hale updated the group with details of the pending Bribery  act and the 2011 ABPI code of practice.</p>
<p class="summary"><a href="http://www.triducive.co.uk">Triducive</a> ended the session with  a crisp update from Tim Warren on how we should be marketing to the the  NHS in these changing times.&nbsp;</p>
<p class="summary">The day was chaired by Andrew Dean of Present Value</p>

<li>Wednesday 1<sup>st</sup> December (overnight)</li>
</ul>
<p>Ratings for the meeting were all positive, 100% of the delegates saw value in continuing this format,&nbsp; 71% rated the content useful and there was overall agreement the venue was right for this type of meeting.</p>
<p>Present Value took on board comments about the content and is arranging quite an array of companies to present their credentials and in/out licensing opportunities. Corporate finance and private equity will also be featuring in the forthcoming meetings.</p>
<p>&nbsp;If your company is not already part of this sub group please consider joining and take the opportunity to present your credentials too.</p>
