Strategic due diligence 

Strategic due diligence is a way of challenging a potential deal to ascertain whether it actually makes sense in the context of the future and how the opportunity fits into your organisation.

Other due diligences look at history e.g. financial performance, market share progression and signed legal agreements. Strategic due diligence projects the fit of the new opportunity and how your in-market performance might change. Does the opportunity actually add value ? Is there a synergy or is this just imagined ? Please see article.
